ACCESS TO AND SHOOTING ON THE RANGE REQUIRES A MEMBERSHIP CARD TO BE VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES 〰️

Welcome ….

Congratulations on choosing to become a member of CVA. We are very proud of our club, and hope that you will build friendships as well as find fun and relaxation during your membership.

A club can only be as strong as its membership, so in this respect we ask that you give your utmost cooperation to Club Officer, Board Members, and Committee Chairpersons. Please help in any way that you can. Don’t wait to be asked. Much of the club maintenance and improvements depend entirely on member volunteers who want to have a better facility to enjoy.

At CVA, love for the sport of archery is one thing that we all have in common. We strive to create an atmosphere of camaraderie and support. If problems should arise, please take them to anyone in a leadership position for the activity in question. If you do not feel that your problems have been solved to your satisfaction, please bring your concerns to a Board member. We are here to serve the good of the club and its members.

Always remember to conduct yourself in a mature and courteous manner. Don’t be afraid to introduce yourself to anyone on the range. For your maximum enjoyment in our club, try to get to know as many of your fellow archers as possible and participate in events.

Most importantly, have a good time, enjoy our sport, and don't be afraid to make suggestions and express your ideas to help make our Club the best that it can be.

Club Tournament Shoot

Membership processing is done at CVA General Membership Meetings. These meetings occur on the fourth Sunday of each month, after the CVA Club Shoot. General Membership Meetings begin at about 11:30 a.m. at the benches near the CVA kitchen bin. Please be prompt if you’re going to attend. Also, be sure to check this website in case there is a change to the General Meeting schedule due to holidays or other events.

What to bring to your first CVA General Meeting:

  1. Membership paperwork filled out with all personal information.

  2. Your checkbook. We recommend that you do not make out your check prior to membership processing due to proration amounts, CVA branded items you may want to purchase, and donations. At this time CVA accepts credit cards, checks, and cash as payment for membership.

EXTRA DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED FOR CERTAIN MEMBERSHIP TYPES:

  1. Full-Time Student membership (24 years old or younger) please bring a copy of your next semester’s registration and proof of age.

  2. SGA (Senior Golden Ager) and FGA (Family Golden Ager) memberships please bring a copy of your driver’s license for proof of age.

What to expect during your first CVA General Meeting:

  • The General and Board of Directors meeting minutes will be reviewed for the prior month, and the General Meeting Minutes will be revised or approved by the Membership.

  • When the meeting agenda reaches the New Members section, you will be asked to stand, introduce yourself, and give a quick overview of your preferred shooting style and archery background. We really enjoy hearing about our new members and their archery stories! (Note: If you do not have a good archery story, make up one about how you single-handedly held off a marauding troop of orcs attempting to cross a narrow footbridge into the keep you were ordered to hold at all cost.)

Immediately following the General Membership Meeting:

  • Membership paperwork will be processed.

  • A safety seminar will be conducted, which is a requirement for membership.

  • You will be provided a gate key and membership card.

NOTE: Please display your membership card at all times while on the range – many members attach it to their quiver.

After attending your second General Membership meeting, your name will be submitted to the Board of Directors for approval to be sworn in. At your third General Meeting, you will be sworn in as a full CVA Club Member. You are not required to attend sequential meetings to satisfy your attendance requirement, but the longer you take to attend your third meeting, the longer it will take to attain your status as a full CVA Club Member.
